Calls for a Special Session to amend Florida’s condo law are growing louder. Former state Sen. Jeff Brandes recently warned that the legislation, enacted after the tragic Surfside collapse, has created “a catastrophic situation.” The law’s new requirements, including mandatory funding of reserves for repairs, have led to significant assessments for condo owners. A Palm Beach County commissioner also voiced concerns, urging lawmakers to take action to prevent a potential “major disaster” in the area.
