John Rollins

Mr. Rollins has been “making the numbers talk” since 1990. John’s career spans 32 years in progressively senior roles in the insurance industry and its stakeholder organizations, the last 23 in coastal property insurance. He has worked in a variety of environments, including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Underwriting Officer, and Chief Risk Officer roles at private-sector and state-backed (Florida Citizens) property insurers, MGAs, top-tier global consulting firms, catastrophe modeling technology firms, and now venture capital. Along the way, John has been responsible for teams of up to 125 staff, served on the Board of Florida Citizens, published several prize-winning papers, written numerous op-eds and educational articles, and testified to Congress and several state legislatures. It all started with becoming an actuary (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society) after earning his B.A. in mathematics from Duke University and his M.A. in economics from the University of Florida.  John considers his career mission as ensuring available, affordable, reliable, and effective property insurance for Floridians and other U.S. residents of catastrophe-prone regions.
